Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you finally made the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean more quality to the paintings, am i right?.
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

Xmas gifts

Damn, my right hand is hurtin'. For my family's stocking stuffers I've decided to do little illustrations for all of them. Wow, what did I get myself into. It's fun though, but it's taking longer than I thought. The illustrations are small, about 4 x 4 each. I'm a color pencil freak and I tend to get overly detailed if I'm having a good time with a picture. Now it's taken me over four hours to complete one picture and its not finished.

For my nephew, who's about 8, I did a realistic rendering of Raphael from the first movie. As some might know I lOOOOVE Raphie...so the pic is getting some tender loving care. My nephew has been bugging me to do a Raph picture for him and I know he'll take care of it...so what the hell, I'll make it look good. My older nephew is getting Shredder, damn this boy loves his bad guys

And Shredder is friggin cool. My niece is gettin' a small portrait one of one her favorite rock stars from AFI. Ahhh...to be 13 and a punk. Those were the days.... And lastly some bird/nature related pics for my mum and sister. And I haven't finished the first one!!

I hope my right hand lasts until next Friday. Dear God...please don't let my hand fall off.
